JAMMU, Apr 9: The separatists and main stream National Conference (NC) and other parties came to severe criticism from various KP organizations for the second day today for their outbursts against the construction of a composite township within Valley for rehabilitation of militancy victims.
The KP organizations all over the country as well as in Kashmir Valley have strongly criticized the separatists and the mainstream parties for opposing the Government move to settle the displaced Pandits in Valley after 26 years of their exile.
Some KP organizations also came to streets with their activists and protested against the Hurriyat move.
Youth All India Kashmiri Samaj (YAIKS) held a protest demonstration in front of Press Club here to protest against the separatist leadership. The protestors with pla cards and banners in their hands shouted slogans against the separatists. Led by its president R K Bhat the YAIKS activists protested against the vested interests and anti social elements including JKLF leader Yasin Malik for sabotaging the return move of Pandits to Valley. Addressing the protestors Bhat alleged that these separatists and anti social elements are working at the behest of Pakistan to sabotage the return move of Pandits.
He said whenever some concrete measures have been taken on the return of Pandits the negative and anti social elements are creating hurdles as they are hell bent to sabotage the move. He said in Jammu some colonies have been developed by the members of majority community and when no one has any hesitation in construction of these colonies why the separatists should oppose the composite township in Kashmir for settlement of displaced people who are leading an exiled life for last over 25 years.
All State Kashmiri Pandit Conference (ASKPC) has expressed its grave concern over the statement some NC leaders, separatist leader Yasin Malik and MLA Engineer Rashid opposing the settlement of displaced people in a composite township in Valley.
ASKPC which met here today under the leadership of its president R K Raina said the Pandits were hounded out by separatist elements with derogatory slogans, threatening posters and selective killings and now after 26 years of displacement such people are dictating terms on the settlement of community in the Valley. The ASKPC while condemning such outrageous statements said Pandits do not need any advice with regard to their rehabilitation in Valley.
Opposing the separatists for announcing shut down in the Valley on Friday and Saturday Kashmiri Pandit Sangarsh Samiti (KPSS) president Sanjay Tickoo said that the separatists have no moral right to oppose the return as they are first violators of human rights of the miniscule minority in Valley by committing crimes against them which led to the mass exodus of the community.
Kashmiri Displaced Lawyers Forum Jammu  under the chairmanship of P N Goja has also expressed its deep concern over the sectarian mindset exhibited towards the return and settlement of KP migrants in the Valley by the Kashmir based politicians and Kashmir based Legislators.
The Forum demanded that the Centre and State Government should go ahead with settlement of KPs in composite township in Valley.
Kashmiri Hindu Conference (KHC) which met under the leadership of ML Thusoo today complimented the NDA Government for showing concern about the return and rehabilitation of Kashmiri Pandits in Valley. The meeting while referring the recent meeting between Union Home Minister and Chief Minister of the State who asked the later to provide land for township shows the Union Government is concerned for settlement of displaced people. The meeting alleged that State Government slept over the issue for last over two decades.
It accused the separatists and anti social elements of trying to divert the majority community from secular fabric which will prove counter productive.
The meeting, which was also addressed by P L Koul Badgami expressed the hope that the State Government will take quick action in this regard.
Panun Kashmir led by Vijay Bhat said that opposition to composite township has exposed the separatist and vindicated the stand of PK which stands for a separate homeland for over seven lakh Pandits within Valley.
Magam Bangil Sabha has also strongly condemned the outbursts of NC leadership and Hurriyat. The Sabha chief R N Raina while criticizing the NC leadership said its claims of settling the Pandits problems during its rule are totally hollow as the Party was responsible for denial of some allowances to migrant employees in Jammu.
The meeting was attended by C L Garu and R N Raina also.
Jammu Kashmir Vichar Manch (JKVM) has also expressed its surprise and dismay over the statement of some NC, leaders and separatists over the construction of composite township in Valley. The senior vice president of the Manch, Dr R L Bhat said that this shows the mindset of certain political leaders belonging to main stream parties and those of separatists who are opposed to the settlement of displaced people in Valley. He said these organizations were hand in glove and part of the conspiracy that forced the mass exodus of minorities from Valley in 1989-90 and put the Valley in the hands of merchants of death.
BJP Mahila Morcha National Executive Member Sheela Handoo has also criticized NC and separatist for opposing the composite township in Valley for settlement of displaced people. She said what harm is there if a smart city can be constructed adjacent to Srinagar City in which people of all communities can be settled.
