JAMMU, May 23: The Kashmiri migrants have shown concern over denial of migration certificates by Relief organisations to some migrant children whose ration cards have been cancelled.
In a joint statement Kashmiri Pandit Conference (KPC) president, Kundan Kashmiri and Migrant Welfare Committee leader and former Sarpanch, Wanpora Pulwama Rattan Lal Pandita said with the denial of migration certificates to some displaced students the authorities have put their career at stake as without the migration certificate they can’t apply for admission under migrant quota in professional colleges the process of which has started.
They said-some migrant families along with their children went to Relief Commissioner Migrant Jammu to apprise him about the sufferings being faced by families whose relief benefits have been stopped from last more than a year on the basis of provisional registration even the registration of some migrant families have already been regularised by the authorities at that time, but unfortunately due to departmental mistakes some families unnecessarily became the target of this order and their children are the most suffers because they are being denied the requisite migrant certificate, income certificate etc to appear in different examinations to continue their higher education.
They appealed to the Government to settle the issue of provisional registration of the hapless families as early as possible so that the carriers of these children be saved.
Pandita said the Kashmiri Pandit families who have migrated during 1989-90 and after 1990 have never dared to go back due to threat perception.
He urged the Government that till the issue of provisional ration cards is settled these students be provided with migration and income certificates without any delay.
