JAMMU, Oct 24: The KP Sabha Jammu in its meeting held under the chairmanship of its President K K Khosa showed deep concern over the deafening silence of both the State and the Central Governments towards two burning issues which have direct bearing on the day to day lives of the displaced KPs.
Mr Khosa in a statement said with the elections to the State Assembly round the corner which may be announced any day, the Sabha decided to appeal the State as well as the Central Governments to immediately issue orders regarding enhancement of monthly relief being paid to the relief holders from Rs.6600 to Rs.10000 per month before the Code of Conduct is promulgated in the State.
He said secondly, the Sabha also appealed the State Government to issue appointment orders to the remaining posts under the PM’s package before the Code of Conduct sets in. Both these issues are extremely vital to the very existence of the community and therefore do not brook any further delay. Since the record of the State as well as the previous Central Governments has been dismal and apathetic towards all the other issues of the community would wait to pin our hopes for their resolution on the new dispensation that comes into being in 2015 to rule the State, he added.
Khosa said there is also concern among the community that both the Governments and the Election Commission of India have managed to scuttle the voting exercise to keep the community marginalized and demoralized.
The meeting was attended by AK Braroo, Ashwani Kaul, S.L Bagati, G J Kampassi, Ashok Khar, Subhash Dhar, B.L.Tickoo, Kewal Sher, Shama Handoo.
