JAMMU, June 6: The Kashmiri Pandit Sabha (KPS) president, K K Khosa has expressed concern over highly deplorable videos doing the rounds on social media showing the scuffle between Kashmiri Pandit ladies and their neighbours in Verinag area of Anantnag district.
In a statement issued here, today, Khosa said it is a matter of grave concern for the security and safety of the minorities in Kashmir. As per reports the Pandit family had recently constructed their own house and instead of welcoming them the local people were seen threatening them with dire consequences and warning that they wouldn’t be allowed to return and resettle there, Khosa added.
“We condemn such behaviour and attitude which does not auger well for peace and normalcy in Kashmir. The Union Territory Government under the leadership of Manoj Sinha, Lt.Governor is requested to kindly direct the concerned authorities to initiate a thorough investigation into the whole affair and in the meantime provide all kinds of security to the minority family so as to prevent any untoward incident from happening’’.
