KPs across India, global diaspora to form part of heritage tour to Kashmir

JAMMU, May 13: The Organizing Committee of the Global Kashmiri Pandit Heritage Tour & Conclave 2026 announced a landmark international gathering of the Kashmiri Pandit community and distinguished personalities from across India and the global diaspora to be held in Kashmir from June 6 to June 14, this year.
The two-day conclave will culminate at the Sher-i-Kashmir International Convention Centre on June 13 and 14,. The initiative marks a historic reconnect of Kashmiri Pandits to their motherland after nearly 36 years of exile and seeks to reconnect generations of displaced Kashmiri Pandits with their ancestral roots, sacred spaces, cultural memory, and collective aspirations for the future.
Held under the unifying theme, “From Exile to Excellence – Kashmiri Pandit Journey of Resilience, Renaissance and Return,” the conclave aims to celebrate the timeless legacy, intellectual contributions, cultural heritage, resilience, and achievements of the community while fostering meaningful dialogue on inclusion, empowerment, community engagement, and the future roadmap.
The tour across Kashmir will form a central pillar of the initiative, a handout issued by the organising Committee of Heritage tour said.
It said seven mainstream community organizations – Global Kashmiri Pandit Diaspora, (GKPD) Jammu & Kashmir Vichar Manch, (JKVM), Youth All India Kashmiri Samaj, (YAIKS) Kashmiri Pandit Association Mumbai (KAM), Kashmiri Overseas Association (KOA) USA, Sanjeevani Sharda Kendra (SSK) Jammu, and All Minorities Employees Association of Kashmir (AMEK)- along with the support of more than 30 organizations from Kashmir, across India, and overseas, are working collectively to make this historic initiative a success.
It further emphasized “This conclave is not merely an event, but a historic initiative to reconnect with our roots, preserve our heritage, strengthen community bonds, and envision a future built on dignity, inclusion, and cultural renaissance. The heritage tour symbolizes our collective journey from exile toward reconnect, remembrance, renewal, and hope.” Delegates from India, the United States, Europe, the Middle East, and several other regions of the world are expected to participate in both the heritage tour and the conclave.
The Organizing Committee has extended invitations to Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister, Amit Shah, Lieutenant Governor of Jammu & Kashmir, Manoj Sinha, and Chief Minister of Jammu & Kashmir, Omar Abdullah. Invitations are also being extended to leaders of mainstream political parties of Jammu & Kashmir, members of Kashmiri civil society from diverse backgrounds including Sikhs and Kashmiri Muslims, as well as representatives of the POJK and Valmiki communities.
