JAMMU, June 12: Kashmiri Pandit Conference (KPC) while justifying the statement of Home Minister, Amit Shah in Lok Sabha yesterday that exemplary action will be taken against Delhi rioters has urged the Prime Minister and Union Home Minister that the culprits responsible for crimes against Kashmiri Pandits during the eruption of terrorism in Valley in 1989 and after that be also dealt sternly under law of the land.
KPC, which met at New Delhi today under the leadership of its president Kundan Kashmiri regretted that justice still eludes victims of genocide in Valley as Government of India failed to punish the perpetrators of crimes against humanity in Kashmir. The meeting said for last 31years the KPs are living in exile outside the Valley due to atrocities and inhuman acts committed against them by terrorists and separatists on the behest of Pakistan and since then the community is demanding justice.
Kashmiri, while addressing the meeting said that the land, orchards, houses and business establishments were grabbed and looted but no action has been taken or probe initiated against the Wandhama, Nadimarg, Sangrampura and Chatisingpora massacres as well as against their so–called leaders like Mirwaz Umer Farooq, Yasin Malik and Hurriyat hardliner Syed Ali Shah Geelani who provoked masses against the KPs and nation. The killers like Bitta Karatay and others who killed and chopped the community daughters are roaming scot free which was basic reason for community’s exodus.
He said no change has come in the life of displaced Kashmiri Pandits after mass exodus. The community suffered a lot over the three decades and scars inflicted on it are still afresh, he added.
KPC leadership demanded immediate judicial and SIT probe in all issues responsible for community’s genocide and regressive punishment to the people for the same. It also demanded setting up of a panel to recover damages and grant of compensation to the losses of KPs land and property.
