JAMMU, Dec 9: Kashmiri Pandit Conference (KPC), expressed grave concern over 30 years long displacement of Kashmiri Pandits who are facing lot of problems in exile.
Kundan Kashmiri, president KPC while addressing the meeting of organization in Union Capital today stated that Kashmiri Pandits will strike with full force and fight for their rights, with all legal, Constitutional and other necessary means, where such rights are denied to the community or infringed upon as community believes in responsive cooperation. He stated that the Government has not given proper attention towards the grievances and demands of exiled KPs who are the victims of Pak sponsored terrorism for the last 30 years which resulted that the confidence of the community has horribly Shaken.
It is imperative for the Government to always keep in mind the socio-cultural, educational, political, economic, religious, safety & security interests of the minorities, he said. He hoped that the J&K and Center governments would assess the condition of the KP minorities of the J&K , and take prompt measures to improve the same and remove their legitimate grievances and accept their demands.
Kashmiri further stated that there was lot of change in the historical, traditional and cultural names of various places in Kashmir Valley made by previous Governments without any rationale behind it and urged upon the Government to reverse the same and some roads and parks be named on late Kashyap Bandu a great leader & social reformer, Shiv Narayan Fotedar another legendary leader, father of the community late Amar Nath Vashnavi and legendry Shri Bhat.
KPC also took serious notice of the ever growing problem of unemployment among the educated youth of the community residing in different parts of the country which has reached now alarming proportions.
To mitigate the hardships of these educated young Government of India should fix reservation in all Central departments and undertakings to mitigate their problems instead of shuttling them back to Valley to make them political tool or to force them to come on streets as well as for carving out of separate Kashyap Bhoomi for KPs in Valley. He also demanded grant of rehabilitation package for overage KP youths, passage of Shrine Bill, nullification of distress sale and medical and other facilities to displaced KP community.
Other KPC leaders who addressed the meeting included Dr. H L Saraf, Tej Pandita,Susheel Ji Bhat, R.L.Raina, Rajender Dhar and Sanjay Koul.
