KPC demands security to Kheer Bhawani, Bod Dashar pilgrims

JAMMU, June 3: “Kashmiri Pandit Conference (KPC) has demanded comprehensive security arrangements on annual religious festival of “Jyestha Ashtami at Tulmulla and Bod Dashar at Prayag, Shadipura, Kashmir.
The two great religious festivals are going on to be held in the Kashmir Valley in the second week of June, 2016, which include annual festival of ” Jyestha Sukla Ashtami” falls of June 12, at Kheer Bhawani, Tulmulla, Tikkar, Manzgam, Badipura and other shrines of Mata Ragniya Bhavani followed by another big religious festival, ” Bod Dashar” falls on June 14 at Prayag, Shadipura, Kashmir, the confluence of river Vitasta and Sind for salvation and performing Shradh to their ancestors, as this festival is believed to have the sanctity of Kumbh Mela.
On these two big religious festivals thousands of Kashmiri Pundit yatris and others are expected to throng the holy shrines of Mata Ragniya Bhavani at Tulmulla and at other asthapans in the Valley on June 12, as well as at Prayag Shadipura, Kashmir on June 14.
KPC Chief Kundan Kashmiri appealed the State Govt. as well as to Central Governemnt for fool proof security arrangements for the yatris at respective religious places. He also demanded other required facilities which include medicine, tents, toilets, bath rooms, etc for pilgrims.
In this connection, KPC has decided to send a dozen of its activists and supporters to these religious locations for Kar seva and assistance to yatris
