KPC asks BJP to clarify stand on Naeem’s statement

Excelsior Correspondent
Jammu, Aug 13: KPC has expressed great annoyance and resentment over the statement of State Government Spokesperson Naeem Akhtar who while questioning Pakistan for not inviting Speaker Jammu & Kashmir Assembly to participate in the Commonwealth Parliamentary Conference to be held shortly in Pakistan, crossed the red line by stating that J&K Govt. has it own view point on Kashmir issue, Pakistan and India have their own point of view. The KPC in its statement said in other words, he, as the official spokesperson of the State Government unambiguously stated that Jammu & Kashmir was not part of the Indian nation and that it was an independent entity which was entitled to have its own point of view on Kashmir issue, challenging the unity and sovereignty of the country.
How could the Jammu & Kashmir Government have a point of view different from that of New Delhi. Neither the Jammu & Kashmir Constitution nor the Constitution of India grants the power to the Jammu & Kashmir Government to say what the spokesperson of the State Government said. KPC have firm belief that Jammu & Kashmir is and shall ever remain an integral part of India and no state government can interfere in matters concerning the territorial integrity of India and its sovereignty.
In this connection KPC President Kundan Kashmiri saying has sent a letter to BJP president Amit Shah as well president J&K BJP unit, Jugal Kishore, that the statement of PDP-BJP spokesperson was not different from the Pak agents like Ali shah Geelani and other Hurriyat and separatist leaders, hence, has hurt the sentiments of nationalist forces.
