JAMMU, Mar 13: Relief Commissioner, Ashok Pandita today said all steps are being taken by the Relief Organisation to mitigate the sufferings of displaced people from Kashmir Valley.
Addressing a function organised by K P Volunteers led by Vikram Kaul to honour Sandhya Dhar for her extra ordinary achivement of bagging Nari Shakti Award on Women’s Day, he said She has become icon of the community. Bagging of such a prestigious award by her is a great achievement and she has really become an inspiration for others, he added.
The function was held at Muthi camp and RRC was the chief guest while well known social activist, Dr Sushil Wattal, Anil Bhat PTI Bureau Chief and Ashok Bhat chairman KP volunteers were the guest of honour on the occasion.
The programme commenced with welcome address by Roshan Pandita, general secretary of volunteers. Key note address was made by Anil Bhan, president Muthi Camp Welfare Committee. Other speakers besides Anil Bhat, Dr Susheel Wattal were Prof Virendar Rawal, Kanwal Peshan. Jam packed audience witnessed the Kashmiri Bhajan performances by Himanshu Pandita and Anjali Pandita. KP volunteers presnted award of honour to Sandhya Dhar on behalf of the community. Among other dignitaries were Avtar Krishan Pandita, Vir Saraf, Shoki Lidhoo, Roshan Pandita, Deepak Koul, Ramesh Koul, Sanjay Jalali, Ashok Raina, Anil Bhan. Vote of thanks was presented by Vikram Koul.
