JAMMU, Feb 6: As a follow up of the meeting held with Chief Minister Omar Abdullah recently, a delegation of Kashmiri Pandits led by working president of NC’s Minority Cell Anil Dhar met Revenue Minister Ajaz Khan here today and discussed various issues of migrated community with him.
The delegation deliberated on the issues including lack of basic facilities in Jagti and other camps, the issue of hike in relief was thoroughly discussed with the Minister. The delegation apprised the Minister of the dismay and disappointment among the migrant community over what is being seen as too meagre and marginal hike in the amount which was too less in comparison to what they have been assured by the Government.
The leaders also discussed in detail unrest among the youth of community for having been deprived of the opportunities of employment under PM’s package and sought things to get expedited. In the matter related to aspiration of the community to get rehabilitated in Kashmir valley by constructing their own dwelling units, the Minister said Government was alive to this demand and had started the process of identifying the land for the same at tehsil and block headquarters. Others who were in the delegation included Ashok Hangloo, Jatin Bhat, Ravinder Koul and Sanjay Koul.
Meanwhile, another delegation of the Cell called on Provincial President NC Devender Singh Rana here today and discussed various issues of migrants with him. The delegation comprised of M L Munshi and Jatin Bhat.
