JAMMU, Dec 2: A deputation of prominent political and social leaders of Kashmir Displaced Pandits today called on Joint CEO, Secretary SEC, Anil Salgotra of J&K UT at Nirvachan Bhawan, here and apprised him about the hardships being faced by the Kashmir displaced community in exercising their right to vote in the ongoing DDC elections.
They said that due to setting up of Polling Stations in Government College for Women, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu which is quite far away from their residential areas the migrant voters are facing are great discomfort and inconvenience in participating in voting exercise in the current DDC elections and this has resulted in their low turn out.
The deputation comprised of Vijay Raina BJP spokesperson district Kulgam, M.K. Yogi president National Conference, Migrant Cell , Rakesh Koul, vice president, BJP Anantnag, Vinod Pandita, Sanjay Dhar Apni Party leaders, Displaced Morcha J&K, Jatin Bhat, vice president, Youth National Conference, Umesh Talashi election incharge NC district Anantnag , Satish Zutshi councilor, Devsar & Ashok Dhar. KP leaders appealed the election authority J&K to immediately set up polling stations at Jagti township, Muthi, Durga Nagar and Bohri areas for the convenience of the displaced community so that they can easily cast their votes in this prestigious election. They have expressed sanguine hope that their fervent appeal is addressed at the earliest.
