SRINAGAR, Sept 18: A well-attended function was organized at KP Colony, Sheikhpora to honour the awardees of the 4th Online Essay Contest 2024–25, along with the winners of the offline ‘On-the-Spot’ contest conducted within the colony.
Chief Education Officer Ganderbal, Oneel Kumar Bhat, presided over the function and encouraged the participants. A cultural programme presented by the colony’s children was also featured on the occasion.
In the online section, Aakanksha Sharma of Shemford Futuristic School, Wanpoh (Vessu) and Mihit Safaya of Air Force School, Budgam (Sheikhpora Colony) bagged second positions in the senior and junior English categories, respectively.
In the offline ‘On-the-Spot’ contest, Ridhi Safaya, Chitesh Bhat and Drishti Mattoo secured the first three positions, while 10 others won consolation prizes.
Sunil Bhat, president of the colony, announced the participation of the maximum number of contestants in the upcoming 5th Online Essay Contest 2025–26 to claim the “Best Valley Based KP Colony Trophy.”
Prizes were handed over to awardees from Gurugram and Faridabad as well.
Team Essay announced that the award distribution function for Jammu-based participants and weekly online sessions with topic specialists would begin in October.
