KP artists, writers smell rat in returning of awards

Excelsior Correspondent
JAMMU, Nov 27: A conference of Kashmiri Pandit writers and artists in exile, on the topic “India is tolerant” was held in J N Kaul Memorial Hall, KECSS Complex, Pamposh Enclave, New Delhi. Prominent writers and artists participated in the deliberations. The function was presided over by M K Kaw a prominent writer and former secretary  GoI and Chanderkanta Vishin, an internationally acclaimed Hindi writer was the chief guest.
All most all the writers and artists who participated in the conference have won national / international acclamations / awards in their fields of activities.
It was observed with anguish that a cloud of anxiety, by returning national awards is being created to nurture social descent in Indian society under the grab of intolerance. Malice filled concerns, echoing a selective happening as a wild practice is a foul propaganda. It is an attempt by confused intellectuals to propagate, club together and form an intellectual mafia.
Some (though a handful of) writers and artists returned their national awards under the garb of intolerance in the country, it appears that such writers and artists are insensitive to the tolerance of the nation.
Their sensitive is selective and motivated, otherwise – how could this band of writers and artists be insensitive to the genocide of Kashmiri Pundits in Kashmir in 1989 – 90; how could this band of writers and artists be insensitive to the massacre of Sikhs in Delhi in 1984; how could this band of writers and artists be insensitive to the challenge that was thrown open to the faith of majority population of the country by hosting beef parties against the law of the land.
The conference was organized by Arvind Shah, a well known children’s writer and translator, (Translator of poems of Atal Bihari Vajpayee.) More than 50 prominent writers and artists participated in the deliberation  including,  O N Kaul , Jawahar Lal Kaul,  Roop Krishen Bhat, J N Dhar, Deepak Budki, Col. (retd) Tej K Tikoo, Sushil Pandit, Utpal Kaul,  Ramesh Manvati, Lalit Ambardar, Dilip Langoo,  Anil Nakashi and Chishul Mahaldar.
