SRINAGAR, July 23: The Bharatiya Janata Party’s organizational secretary, Ashok Koul, said today that all political parties should unanimously condemn the recent attacks in Jammu region and issue warnings to those responsible for disturbing the peace.
Koul made these remarks during a workers meeting in Srinagar, emphasizing that political parties, including the National Conference, the People’s Democratic Party, and others, should denounce the incidents that have occurred, particularly in Jammu over the past few months.
He urged all parties to come together to condemn these activities and issue a unified warning to those disrupting the peace that has prevailed for the past five years. “Whatever happened in the ’90s should serve as a lesson for the political parties here. They should all denounce the ongoing disturbances, especially in Jammu,” Koul said.

Koul condemned the recent attempts to disturb the peaceful atmosphere maintained for the last five years. “I request all parties not to focus on who is responsible but to ensure that those who are should be directly targeted and held accountable,” he added.
He expressed optimism that the situation would improve in the coming days as the government addresses the issue with strict measures and prepares for the upcoming assembly elections.
Regarding the purpose of the workers meeting, he said these gatherings are held in view of the upcoming elections to discuss the BJP’s strategies and the role of workers. “For the past four or five days, I have been traveling to different constituencies to meet with workers across the valley. We inform them about these matters, ensuring they are prepared for the elections and ready to work at the polling booths. We cover all these topics in our meetings and urge them to make the necessary preparations,” he said.
