RAJOURI, Dec 2: A noted social activist and Sarpanch, Kewal (Budhal), Farooq Inqlabi has expressed serious concern over the worst condition of Kotranka-Khawas road in Rajouri district.
In a prèss statement, Inqlabi said that the administration was silent on the dilapidated condition of the road which is facing total neglect since long.
While expressing concern over the dilapidated condition of Khawas road he said that the silence of the administration on the condition of this road is a matter of pity. He said that the construction work of this road has been going on for many years but even today this road is not suitable for vehicular traffic.
Sarpanch said that the people of Khawas risk their lives to travel on this road. He said that crores of rupees have been spent on this road so far but unfortunately the condition of the road is as it is due to which the people are facing severe difficulties.
Farooq said that people of the area are worried about the delay in the completion of this road for which the foundation stone was land by the then J&K Chief Minister Sheikh Mohd Abdullah. He said that due to dilapidated condition of the road not only the people face difficulties in transportation but also all other development works are hampered.
He demanded early completion of the road as well as holding the contractors accountable before public for the cost of crores of rupees. He said that if the road work was not expedited, he would launch a massive agitation along with the people of Khawas.
