Kolkata Police Commissioner grilled for 8 hours, Ghosh in Shillong to face CBI

SHILLONG: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) grilled Kolkata Police Commissioner Rajeev Kumar for eight hours at the CBI anti-corruption branch office here in Meghalaya in relation to Sardha chit fund scam cases, an official said.

The ten-member CBI team of interrogators will again question Kumar and former Trinamool Congress MP Kunal Ghosh in connection with ponzi chit fund scams on Sunday in CBI office here.

Ghosh, who was arrested on November 23, 2013 in connection with chit fund scam, has arrived in Shillong. The Calcutta High Court had granted Ghosh interim bail against a bail bond of Rs 2 lakh in 2016.

Kumar reached the Shillong CBI office at 1045 hours wherein the investigators of the Central agency questioned him. The Kolkata Police Commissioner cooperated with the CBI during the entire eight hours interrogation. (AGENCIES)
