Kohli for improved transport facilities in far-flung areas

RAJOURI, Apr 29: Asserting that the present regime would make utmost efforts to fulfill the aspirations of people by resolving their long pending issues especially the provision of basic facilities, the Minister for Transport, Abdul Ghani Kohli assured to come up to the expectations of the public and equip the far flung areas with sufficient amenities.
The Minister, who was extensive tour of Broh and Chama Mandi areas of Kalakote constituency, took appraisal of the problems being faced by the inhabitants.
Reiterating that better transport facility is imperative for overall development and economic welfare of the State, Minister said that the present Coalition Government is committed to streamline this sector. He assured that a pragmatic and innovative approach will be adopted to improve functioning of the department.
Various issues were raised by the locals during the public meetings at Broh and Chama Mandi which mainly included installation of electric poles, improvement in water supply ,adequate health facilities, road connectivity, installation of more hand pumps etc. People also demanded construction of dispensary at Chama Mandi and sought provision of adequate staff and teaching infrastructure in school of the area as well as facility of public transport in these two panchayats.
Responding to demands, Minister directed concerned departments to ensure better public transportation facility in these two panchayats. He exhorted upon the officers that benefits of various development and welfare schemes should reach to the deserving beneficiaries on time.
