RAJOURI, Jan 3: Minister for Transport, Abdul Ghani Kohli today convened a public grievances redressal camp at Gai Bass, Kotranka.
Addressing the gathering, the Minister said the Government is committed for the development of neglected areas and efforts are being made to provide all basic amenities to the people in such areas. He said road connectivity, adequate drinking water and power supply, strengthening and expansion of educational standards and infrastructure in rural areas and improving health care delivery system is the priority of the Government. “Tangible results of the Government’s developmental and welfare initiatives would be visible on the ground soon,” he said.
The Minister discussed the issues raised by the people with the officers and asked them to make adequate provision for meeting the public demands. He asked PWD officials to resolve the issue of land with the Forest Department so as to ensure early construction of Khotchadwal-Naarla road besides asking PDD authorities to install additional electric poles wherever required for proper electrification of the area.
Regarding the demands related to scarcity of drinking water in the area, the Minister asked PHE authorities to renew the distribution system so that the people get adequate drinking water.
The Minister stressed on solving the problems of drinking water, electricity and development requirements of the area. He asked officers to cooperate with the people and mitigate their problems by making extra efforts and judicious use of the resources at their disposal.
SDM, Kotranka, Sukhpal Singh, SDM, Kalakote, B K Panotra, ASP, Rakesh Bhagat besides all the district and sectoral officers attended the grievance redress camp.
