KKHMS delegation calls on CEO

JAMMU, Nov 14: A deputation of Kashmiri migrants led by president of Kashmiri Khatri Hindu Maha Sabha, (KKHMS) Er Romesh Chander Mahajan called on Chief Electoral Officer, J&K at Rail Head Complex near here, today and apprised him of the problems being faced by the migrants and general public.
The delegation demanded launching of enrolment campaign for authentication of electoral rolls for migrants as well as for the interest of general public of the State for the inclusion of new souls, correction, removal of errors and fresh registration and photo improvement in existing rolls.
It also demanded issuance of EPIC /current coloured voter card for the time being to facilitate the migrants and general public of the State till the completion of the process of electoral roll of eligible voters and grant of extension from November 16 so that eligible voter may not be deprived of his her franchise.
The deputation said to avoid any inconvenience and the special campaign will also provide benefit to all general public of surrounding areas in urban and rural belts as the date does not suffice the purpose of public hence it should be extended so that peoples problem are redressed to some extent.
It also demanded that the detailed voter lists be revised immediately before the coming elections so that maximum participation of people in elections is ensured.
The CEO assured the delegation that their demands will be redressed.
