JAMMU, Mar 12: A delegation of Kashmiri Khatri Hindu Maha (KKHM) Sabha, under the chairmanship of its President, Er Ramesh Chander Mahajan today called on Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) J&K to apprise him of the problems being faced by Kashmiri migrants with regard to voter lists.
They apprised the CEO that despite the enthusiastic participation of the migrants in the process of 6 months Special Summary Revision of Photo Electoral Roll, the deficiencies in the voter lists are still existing and the concerned department has hardly done anything with regard to removal of errors, inclusion of eligible new souls and corrections in the lists.
They further said that the EPIC Machines at Migrant Election Office for issuance of EPIC Cards are hardly functional.
The delegation demanded the establishment of EPIC Centres at migrant camp offices at Jammu, Delhi and other places so that the maximum participation of migrants be ensured through Electronic Voting Machine at their respective Polling Stations.
They appealed the CEO for early redressal of these issues.
