JAMMU, Jan 12: Kisan Sabha celebrated its 42nd Foundation Day at Domana-Purkhoo near here wherein farmers from all parts of J&K participated.
The function was presided over by Sabha president, Hari Chand Jalmeria while vice presidents-Dr. Ghanisham Singh Charak, Udey Chand and Balwant Singh; general secretary, Dewan Chand; secretaries-Rashpal Singh, Ravi Kumar and Dr. Mulakh Raj Bhumagi; Sarpanches-Reena Choudhary and Maqbool Malik were also present.
Jalmeria while speaking on the occasion hailed the withdrawn of three farm laws by the Central Government.
On this occasion Kisan Sabha Samelan adopted a resolution that loss suffered by farmers’ Kharif crops by unprecedented hail storm on October 23, 2021 in almost entire of J&K should be compensated.
Speakers on this occasion claimed that though the Government promised compensation, but it did not paid it adequately to the victim farmers.
Release of adequate compensate to affected farmers was demanded.
Kisan Sabha asked the government to guarantee procurement of farmers’ produce at MSP.
Leaders of the Sabha said that there are many climatic zones and also areas having different soil conditions. “All these varied areas require appropriate Research Centers of Agriculture University,” they maintained demanding opening of Research Centers in various areas of all climatic zones.
Among other demands was security to farmers against natural calamities and border area contingencies.
Sabha leaders demanded that the Government should prepare Kisan Pension Yojna for all farmers after they attain the age of 60 years.
