JAMMU, May 27: First woman IPS Officer of India Dr Kiran Bedi today launched a special scholarship scheme for JK students to study at Aryans Group of Colleges, Chandigarh.
The scholarships will be given in different courses like B Tech, M Tech, MBA, BBA, BCA, BA, B Com, BEd, Nursing, Polytechnic and +1 (Non Medical) at Aryans.
Dr Anshu Kataria, Chairman, Aryans Group of Colleges presided over the event.
On the occasion, Dr Bedi also launched a Toll Free Number 1800-30000-388 on which students can register themselves to avail the scheme.
Aryans association with Kiran Bedi has entered in 5th year and on this occasion, Aryans College has decided to give scholarship to 25 meritorious students of J&K.
As per the scheme, 5 students having more than 90 per cent marks in 10th/10+2 would get 100 per cent scholarship, whereas for 20 students having more than 75 per cent, half of the fee will be waived off and the other half will be financed in shape of education loan by Dena Bank.
Dr Kiran Bedi also addressed the students and distributed scholarship letters to meritorious students selected under various schemes.
Dr Kiran Bedi said that “I came to know that more than 700 J&K students are studying in Aryans which is news in itself. I was pleased to honour the 4 Aryans Kashmiri girls on stage in Chandigarh who developed “Aryans Android App” and also the 4 Aryans Kashmiri boys who developed “Life saving Glove” with Nursing Team of Aryans. This shows that at Aryans students are not only studying but also doing innovations”.
Dr Bedi further said that now Aryans is launching a project especially for J&K students and for that he extended her full support.
She added that the students who will be selected under this project should help other needy students after completing their studies.
Dr Anshu Kataria while giving more details about the scheme said that any Indian student can apply for this scheme.
He said that as maximum as possible students should apply for this scheme. The entire selection procedure would be completed in one month.
