MENDHAR, Apr 29: A kidnapped girl was recovered by Gursai police from Chhatapani area of Mughal Road today.
A police spokesman said that the police came into action after parents of the girl, lodged an FIR at Gursai Police Station that their 20 year-old daughter, Amina Akhtar (name changed) has been kidnapped by one Mohd Sajid Khan (26), son of Mohd Khan, resident of Niaka Majari. The police party led by SHO Gursai, DySP Prob Altaf Khan conducted a raid and recovered the girl from Chattapani area on Mughal Road.
The accused reached there in a vehicle early today and since there is huge snow on the road in Pir-Ki- Gali area, he planned to cover this distance on foot and reach Shopian in Kashmir. The police party arrested accused and recovered the girl. After medical examination at Mendhar, the girl was handed over to the family. A case FIR No. 29/2014 has been registered in this connection.
