SRINAGAR, Oct 1: Police in Pulwama today said to have recovered a kidnapped girl and arrested the accused person involved in the commission of the crime.
On 28/09/2021, Police Station Litter received a written complaint from one person stating therein that his daughter (name withheld) was kidnapped by one person namely Showkat Ahmad Wani son of Ab Rashid Wani resident of Khellan Pulwama.
Accordingly, police said, a case vide FIR No. 103/2021 under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Litter and investigation was initiated.
During the investigation, a team headed by SHO Police Station Litter under the supervision of SDPO Litter Shri Shri Furqan Qadri was constituted to trace and rescue the kidnapped girl.
“Acting on specific leads and by utilizing all available means, the team was able to recover the kidnapped girl from village Kulpora and arrest the accused person involved in the commission of the crime within two days after the complaint was received,” police said.
After fulfilling all medico-legal formalities, the girl has been handed over to her legal heirs while further investigation into the matter is in progress.
