SRINAGAR, Mar 31: Police recovered a kidnapped girl and arrested the accused involved in the crime in Anantnag district today.
A Police spokesman said that one person (name withheld), a resident of Mattan approached Police Station Mattan with a written complaint, wherein it was stated that his niece (name withheld) has been kidnapped by one Ishfaq Ahmad Kumar, a resident of Hogam Mattan.
He said a case FIR Number 21/2018 under Section 363-RPC was registered in Police Station Mattan and investigation was started.
“After hectic efforts, the said girl was recovered from Hogam area of district Anantnag and the accused person was arrested. After completion of legal formalities, the girl was handed over to her family members,” he said.
