JAMMU, Mar 5: Janipur police today claimed to have solved a kidnapping case by recovering the kidnapped girl and arresting the kidnapper.
“A complaint was lodged yesterday by one Kavi Singh son of Satpal, resident of Daily Excelsior lane, Janipur (Jammu) in police station Janipur stating that his 16-year-old daughter was kidnapped by one Ritik Mehra son of Roshan Lal of Bari Brahmana,” police sources said.
They said a case FIR Number 20/2020 U/S 363/IPC was registered in this connection and investigation started. “During the course of investigation, accused Ritik Mehra was arrested today and kidnapped girl was recovered from his possession,” sources said, adding, after all medico-legal formalities the girl was handed over to her family.
The arrest and recovery was made by SHO police station Janipur, Inspector Naresh Sharma under the supervision of SDPO Amit Sharma and overall supervision of SSP Jammu Sridhar Patil.
