REASI, Oct 24: The police rescued a minor girl of a village in Mahore, from Gool area of Ramban today and arrested two kidnappers.
A police spokesman said that on Tuesday, an information was received at Police Station Mahore from the parents of a minor girl hailing from Kansali in Mahore, that some persons have kidnapped their daughter and were taking her to Kashmir for getting her married.
Immediately after receipt of this information, a police party under the supervision of SDPO Mahore , Zakir Shaheen Mirza led by SI Sajad Banya of P/S Mahore swung into action and developed a credible information and laid a trap to nab the kidnappers. It was learnt that the kidnappers are taking the girl in a Van bearing registration No. JK06A-3407.
The Van was chased and the girl was recovered from Gool area. Both the kidnappers namely -Ghulam Ali, son of Abdul Razaq and Abdul Ahad, son of Ghulam Ali were arrested. On preliminary inquiry, it came to fore that Riyaz Ahmed, elder son of Ghulam Ali had allured the girl to marry him, who had been working in Kashmir, but since he was not available in her vicinity, he set up a plan to elope with the girl, but at the right moment, sent his younger brother and father to bring the girl to him. When the parents of the girl got to know their plan, they alerted the police and thus the kidnapping was averted and girl recovered.
A case FIR No. 81/2018 U/S 363/341/RPC was registered at the concerned Police Station.
