Kichloo demands absorption of local youth in Pakal Dul HEP

KISHTWAR, July 1: Senior National Conference leader and former Home Minister, Sajjad Ahmad Kichloo has sought the absorption of unemployed youth in the newly opened hydroelectric project in Kishtwar.
Stating that the unemployed engineers hailing from different areas of Kishtwar district are eagerly waiting for the start of 1000 MW Pakal Dul Power Project and its power house in Kishtwar district, Kichloo demanded a comprehensive job policy for engagement of local unemployed engineers in the project.
He said that the first preference in recruitment for administrative, skilled/unskilled posts on company rolls should be given to the aspirants belonging from district Kishtwar and for the recruitment process a criteria should be framed on merit basis and interview i.e. 70 percent credit to merit and 30 percent credit to interview.
Kichloo further said that for the transparency in the recruitment process, there should be an online official web portal where each and every detail including short listed candidates, requirement of staff and other notifications pertaining to recruitment are made available. Besides this, he said 15 days should be given for filling up the forms and the form – filling should also be online.
The NC leader was speaking to unemployed educated youth of the district, who called on him and apprised him that that the authorities of the company are not recruiting the local skilled engineers having M Tech, B Tech and Polytechnic degrees and diplomas which is visible injustice to them. They said that ignoring them, the company is hiring the engineers from outside Kishtwar which is totally against the recruitment policy promised by the company at the time of signing of Memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the State Government.
Kichloo further demanded that experienced job seekers of district Kishtwar should be given first priority of employment in Pakal Dul HEP and those having no experience should be engaged as a trainee for a period of 6 months as per the policy adopted by JP company in DHP and BHEP.
