SRINAGAR, Feb 27: Commissioner Secretary, Public Works Department (R&B), Khurshid Ahmad Shah and Secretary, Department of Higher Education, Talat Parvez Rohella today took stock of people’s grievances during a day-long public grievance camp held at Banquet Hall here.
During the programme, a number of deputations and individuals from Srinagar, Budgam, Anantnag, Baramulla, Ganderbal, Kulgam, Pulwama, Gulmarag, Kokernag, Pahalgam, among other areas met the Administrative Secretaries and highlighted their issues.
Speaking to several delegations during the camp, Shah said that Government was focused to improve the rural connectivity in Jammu and Kashmir. He also said that the macadamization process would start immediately after weather improves.
A delegation of Zafran Colony Pampore called upon the Administrative Secretaries to complete the macadamization works and also take up the inner road links in their areas.
A delegation from Shangus, Anantnag demanded macadamization of roads and inner link roads of their areas. The delegation, led by Auqaf President, Shangus further demanded that all their grievances should be addressed.
A delegation from Thamun, Pulwama apprised the Administrative Secretaries about their issues-urging them to direct the officers to look into the matter on priority.
A delegation from Dogripura, Awantipora, Pulwama demanded construction of bridge in the area.
A delegation of senior citizens demanded establishment of Janashudi Store at Day Care Centre for Senior Citizens-which is jointly monitored by Health Department and High Court. They also demanded augmentation of Chadoora in terms of equipment and staff.
A delegation of Mass Communication passed outs requested the Administrative Secretaries to expedite the process of conducting interviews by Public Service Commission (PSC). They sought relaxation in eligibility criteria.
A delegation from north Kashmir’s Hajin Bandipora demanded up-gradation of PHC and establishment of Bank branch. They also demanded macadamization of inner links to Madwan, Sonawari.
A delegation of casual workers (Nursing Orderlies) of Ganderbal district demanded release of pending wages.
A delegation of Drubgaam, Pakherpora, demanded macadamization of roads.
A delegation from Langate, led by BDC chairman, demanded macadamization of roads from Magam to Pohru. They also demanded macadamization of inner road links of the area.
A delegation from Chitergul, Shangus demanded that their roads be repaired, besides ensuring road safety measures.
A delegation from Mamoosa, Pattan demanded construction of NTPHC and additional Anganwadi centres in the area.
A delegation from Zoorigund, Budgam demanded NTPHC for their area which has a population of 6000.
A delegation of Ph.Ds, M. Tech in Biomedical Mechanical Engineering demanded that posts should be created for them. They also demanded 30% reservation of works for them under self -help group mode.
A delegation of ‘Helper to Supervisor’ of ICDS demanded their wages be released on priority. They also demanded regularization of their services.
A delegation of Hamdania Colony, Bemina informed that their roads are in shambles. They demanded early macadamization and urged the Administrative Secretaries that their grievances be kindly addressed.
A delegation of casual labours working under Hospital Development Fund demanded that their wages be released regularly.
A delegation of contractors-working for JKPCC demanded clearing of their pending bills. They demanded their liabilities be cleared.
A delegation from Kreeri demanded establishment of health centre for Chandkoot. They said that people were suffering due to the lack of healthcare institute.
A delegation of Soibugh, Lal Colony, demanded boundary wall in their area.
A delegation of Suthra Shahi, Colony, Bat-amaloo, demanded macadamization of their area. They also demanded construction of the boundary wall.
A delegation of unemployed music graduates apprised the Secretary Higher Education about the lack of posts in Higher Secondary Level. They also demanded that music courses should be started at PG level. They said that at a time when sanction was granted to nearly 100 colleges across Jammu and Kashmir, there was a need to create job avenues for these graduates too.
Several delegations from Khanyar, Rainawari, and other areas apprised the Commissioner Secretary, R&B about the dilapidated roads in the city centre, besides demanding public urinals across city.
