Kher, Khurshid to attend Jammu literary fest on Dec 26

JAMMU, Dec 19: Bollywood actor Anupam Kher along with former Union Minister Salman Khurshid and veteran columnist Kuldeep Nayyar will be attending “Tawi Kinare”, a two-day literary festival being organized by “Lehar”, a literary organization, from December 26 here at Abhinav Theatre.
The fest will be organized by Anupam Kher. A galaxy of literary luminaries from within the State and outside will be participating in this literary festival. Besides, Anupam Kher, other eminent guests coming from outside the State for the fest are former Union Minister, Salman Khurshid, celebrity author and journalist, Kuldip Nayar, authors-Siddharth Gigoo, Deepak Budhki, Nirupama Dutt and Badri Raina, and publisher and author, Ashok Chopra.
Disclosing this during a press conference here today, Director, Lehar, Shaleen Chopra, said that the fest will have seven sessions. After the inauguration of the fest on Dec 26, the first session will be on ‘Trends in Contemporary Literature: What We reveal, What We Suppress’ while the theme of the second session will be ‘Cultures in Conflict: The Roads Ahead’.
Chopra further revealed that the third technical session will discuss the contemporary history of the pain recorded by the writers of the State and will see the authors like IGP Jammu Danesh Rana and Siddharth Gigoo in conversation with panelists.
“December 27 will begin with the exclusive signature show of Anupam Kher on the theme ‘Kuchh Bhi Ho Sakta Hai’. The next session will focus on the theme ‘Are Lifestyles Issues Becoming Identify Questions?’ while the third session of the day will have former Union Minister, Salman Khurshid and celebrity journalist and author, Kuldip Nayar. The theme of the session will be ‘The Idea of Liberty”. The last session of the day will focus on a major issue confronting us which is ‘The Rise of Radicalism: The Future of Heterogeneous Societies”, Chopra further said.
