Kher asks people to ‘vote for change’

SRINAGAR, Nov 24:
Veteran Bollywood actor Anupam Kher today asked the people of Jammu and Kashmir to “vote for change”, saying the politicians in the State had “failed” to fulfill their promises during the last 50 years.
“You are responsible for your destiny and time has come for you to change your destiny. Politicians here have failed to fulfill their promises in last 50-years. Why to choose the same people again for next-six years?” Kher, said addressing an election rally here.
The Kashmir-born actor was campaigning for People’s Republican Party (PRP), a new political outfit floated here recently.
Kher said the elections in the State were not six-year festivals, but held the future of people.
“Why would your business remain stuck? Why would you live a fearful life again when you have the chance to change. The power of a vote is the game-changer to change the destiny of the people. You should vote for change to change the destiny of the State,” he said.
The actor, whose wife Kiron Kher is a BJP MP, said he “visited my land to seek the change here for the betterment of the people”.
“Let me make it clear that I do not visit election rallies except for my wife, but today I visited my land to see change here for the betterment of the people,” he said.
The actor showered praises on Prime Minister Narendra Modi but maintained that he was not campaigning for BJP.
He, however, called for ending the dynastic rule in the J-K.
“He (Modi) has got personal affection with the people and that is why he paid more visits to this State,” Kher said.
Kher also said the people should look at the Gujrat model and “see the development” that had taken place in the State before casting their votes.
He said all the cities across the country have changed drastically on the developmental front, but there was no visible change here.
“In J&K only politicians changed but the people remain same because of lack of developmental activities,” he said. (AGENCIES)
