KHC’s concern over deteriorating situation in Kashmir

JAMMU, Mar 3: Expressing grave concern over the deteriorating situation in Valley, Kashmiri Hindu Conference (KHC) today urged the Government not to mislead the community on the return issue.
In a statement issued here today KHC president, M L Thusoo said that situation was not conducive for the return of Pandits in Valley and any move in this regard will boomerang.
He said the killing of two IRP jawans in Handwara yesterday is an eye opener for the Government.
He reiterated that Pandits are willing to return to their homeland with which their generations have association of centuries together but under the prevailing circumstances the same was not possible. He demanded for the settlement of Pandits the Government should carve out a big township within Kashmir valley with all facilities as this was the only viable solution to their problem.
The KHC convener, P L Kaul Badgami urged the Government to look into the demands of the migrant employees posted in Valley and adjust them outside Kashmir for the time being till normalcy is restored there.
He demanded that the remaining posts under PM’s package be filled up by absorbing the youth outside the Valley.
