JAMMU, Sept 17: Kashmiri Hindu Conference (KHC) and All India Migrant Camp Coordination Committee (AIMCCC) have expressed grave concern over non payment of relief to displaced people from Valley for the month of August till date and accused the Relief organization for the problem.
The KHC and AIMCCC in their separate meetings held under the chairmanship of their respective presidents, M L Thusoo and Desh Rattan Pandita have urged the relief organization to take immediate steps in releasing the relief of displaced people who are facing hardships in purchasing life saving medicines for ailing family members, school tuition fee of their children etc.
They said it is difficult for such families who are totally dependent on cash relief to pull on under prevailing situation when prices of essential commodities have skyrocketed. They warned that entire community will be forced to come to streets in case the relief was not released within days.
The KHC convener, P L Koul Budgami alleged instead of easing the problems of displaced people the authorities are putting them to more hardships. He said the Government should take the issue seriously and ensure that the relief is disbursed within days.
