YAMUNANAGAR (HARYANA):
Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar today announced financial assistance of Rs 20 lakh to the next of kin of BSF constable Rocky, who laid down his life fighting militants in the Udhampur terror attack.
The chief minister also announced Government job for one member in the family. Besides, he said a road in the village would be named after Rocky and his statue would be built in the village.
Khattar today visited Rocky’s native village Ramgarh Majra here and participated in his ‘Rasam Kriya’, paid him floral tributes and consoled the members of his family.
The chief minister assured that the martyr’s family would be given due respect and honour by the Government.
“Rocky has made his family, village, district and State proud by sacrificing his life for the safety of the country,” Khattar said.
He said the sacrifice made by Rocky would also give inspiration to other youths.
Brave soldiers of the State have been safeguarding the borders of the country, maintaining internal security and they never hesitate in sacrificing their lives for the same. It is a matter of pride for all of us that every tenth soldier in our Armed Forces is from Haryana, he said.
Khattar was accompanied by Haryana assembly Speaker Kanwar Pal, Chief Parliamentary Secretary Shyam Singh Rana, MLA Sadhaura Balwant Singh, Deputy Commissioner S S Phoolia and other senior officers of the district administration. (AGENCIES)
