Khatana visits Haj House, reviews arrangements

MUMBAI, Apr 26: Senior BJP leader and Rajya Sabha MP, Gulam Ali Khatana undertook a comprehensive visit on Sunday to the Haj House Mumbai, reviewing ongoing arrangements for the annual Haj pilgrimage and interacting closely with officials, volunteers, and pilgrims.
Upon his arrival, Khatana was warmly received and felicitated by Deputy Chief Executive Officer, Mohd Niyaz Ahmad. Dr. Sadaqat Ali, Deputy CEO (Accounts and Administration), was also present throughout the visit. He briefed the MP on administrative and financial aspects of Haj operations.
The visit began with a detailed overview of operational preparedness, followed by an extensive tour of the Haj House facilities. Khatana inspected the main processing hall, where pilgrims were completing essential pre-departure formalities such as document verification, biometric procedures, issuance of smart wearable devices, and foreign exchange arrangements.
He interacted with volunteers and staff, enquiring about their day-to-day responsibilities, coordination mechanisms, and challenges during peak periods. During these interactions, Dr. Sadaqat Ali provided insights into administrative coordination and financial management systems, highlighting measures taken to ensure efficiency and transparency.
Khatana also engaged with several pilgrims and their families, extending his best wishes for a safe and spiritually fulfilling journey to Mecca. The interaction reflected the Government’s focus on ensuring a comfortable and dignified pilgrimage experience.
Deputy CEO Mohd Niyaz Ahmad delivered a detailed presentation on the initiatives of the Haj Committee of India, including digitalization of services, improved accommodation planning, medical screening protocols, and coordination with airlines and Saudi authorities. Dr. Sadaqat Ali also supplemented the presentation with inputs on resource allocation and administrative efficiency.
In a significant moment, Khatana flagged off and saw off two buses carrying pilgrims to the airport. He briefly interacted with the departing Hajis, conveying his greetings and encouraging them to uphold India’s values of harmony and unity during the sacred journey.
The MP also reviewed arrangements related to crowd management, safety protocols, and logistical coordination, expressing satisfaction with the overall preparedness.
