Khatana meets family members of Avtar Singh, assures justice

JAMMU, May 7: Senior BJP leader and Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha), Gulam Ali Khatana today visited the family members of deceased Avtar Singh who was recently killed in a land dispute case at Greater Kailash area of Jammu.
Expressing deep grief over the killing. Khatana prayed for peace to the departed soul and courage to the bereaved family to bear the irreparable loss.
He assured justice to the victim family and said that the guilty will definitely get exemplary punishment for the heinous crime and confidence of the public over the law enforcing Police will be maintained.
The BJP leader also said that police should work hard to ensure that no such incident may take place in future and the mafia of land grabbers should be dealt sternly along with other criminals.
He said that Police in J&K is known for professionalism and these cops have done a lot in combating terrorism in the State apart from eradicating the crime from our soil.
“Killing of a human being puts all his dependants into uncalled troubles and miseries,” Khatana further said expressing his condolences to the family members of slain Avtar Singh.
Prominent among those were present on the occasion were former Mayor of Jammu city, Rajinder Sharma, JMC councillor, Anil Kumar and Jagjit Singh, social activist.
