Khanna, Shamsher, 20 others donate blood at Lal Ded Hospital

SRINAGAR, Sept 16: Under the party’s ongoing week- long programmes of ‘Seva Saptah’ being organized in connection with the birthday of Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, Kashmir BJP held a blood donation camp at Lal Ded Hospital, Srinagar today.
BJP national vice-president and J&K Prabhari, Avinash Rai Khanna and Member of Parliament, Shamsher Singh Manhas, along with 20 other senior leaders of the party donated blood in the camp.
Avinash Rai Khanna, on this occasion, said “we are living in a civilized society and have bonds of love and affection with others. When we donate blood to someone, it further strengthens the fabric of brotherhood, oneness and reflects concern towards the pain of others”. He said that donating blood is very noble cause as it can save a precious life and hence each one of us should come forward to help the needy by donating blood.
Khanna said that about 60 percent of the population is eligible to donate blood and if people voluntarily follow it and many more lives can be saved.
“Feeling the joy of saving a human life is itself a great satisfaction”, Khanna said and added that neither blood donor nor the blood injected into someone’s body differentiate on the basic of his or her faith but gives them new life.
Shamsher Singh Manhas said that the weeklong programme in connection with the birthday of Prime Minister, Narendra Modi has significance and is directly linked to the service of nation and mankind. He said that organizing different programmes in a week also provide an opportunity to reach the people and make them familiar with the message of serving humanity, keeping environment healthy and leading a fit life.
BJP State vice-president, Dr. Ali Mohammed Mir, State general secretaries Dr. Narinder Singh and Sunil Sharma, State spokesperson, Altaf Thakur, National Waqf Council Chairman, Dr. Darkshana Andrabi, SMC Corporator & district president, Arif Raja, BJYM State vice-president, Bilal Ahmed also donated blood during the camp.
