JAMMU, Nov 7: State Cabinet which met under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah this morning accorded sanction to the promotion of Mohammad Iqbal Khandey, Principal Secretary Finance to the Fixed Scale of IAS with effect from 2010. Upon his promotion, Mr Khandey has been designated as Financial Commissioner, Finance Department.
The Cabinet also accorded administrative approval for the construction of alternate bridge (double lane) next to existing Abdullah Bridge in Rajouri at an estimated cost of Rs 20 crore approved under Special Task Force Programme for Jammu division.
It also gave nod to the creation of one post of Professor and one post of Associate Professor in the Department of Prosthodontics in Government Dental College and Hospital, Srinagar.
Meanwhile, Jeet Lal Gupta Commissioner Secretary Social welfare has been given additional charge of Housing and Urban Development Department till Suresh Kumar, Principal Secretary Housing and Urban Development Department; currently abroad in connection with training, resumes his duties.
