Khandaray is OSD to DGP

JAMMU, July 26: IPS officer and DIG Satish Khandaray, who has recently returned from deputation from Maharashtra, was today posted as Officer on Special Duty (OSD) to Director General of Police (DGP) Ashok Prasad.
Meanwhile, Police Headquarters today detached 15 more Inspectors of Armed Police, who were attached with executive police, in Kashmir valley, official sources said.
Mr Khandaray had joined his duties at Police Headquarters after return from Maharashtra deputation where he had served at several prestigious posts including Police Commissioner of Pune and Nagpur.
An officer of 1995 IPS batch of Jammu and Kashmir cadre, Mr Khandaray was on deputation to Maharashtra since 2005.
The State Cabinet would order further posting of Mr Khandaray.
Police Headquarters today further ordered detachment of 15 Inspectors of Armed Police from executive police in the Kashmir valley.
Outgoing DGP K Rajendra had detached eight Inspectors of Armed Police, five of whom had been posted as SHOs in Jammu zone, and reverted them to Armed Police.
The Police Headquarters today issued another order in which 15 Inspectors of Kashmir, who had been attached to executive police from Armed Police, have also been detached.
With today’s order, all Inspectors of Armed Police have been detached from executive police. The detachments have been ordered in view of shortage of officers in Armed Police.
