Khalid Hussain gets Shiromani Punjabi Sahitkar Award

JAMMU,  Apr 6: Khalid Hussain, son of the soil and internationally renowned Punjabi and Urdu short-story writer of J&K, who was earlier conferred with Shiromani Punjabi Sahitkar Award for the year 2014 by Bhasha Vibhag (Language Department) of Punjab Government, formally received the award at Patiala. The award comprises of Rs 5 lakh, a medal and a citation.
Khalid Hussain is an author of 5 short-story collections in Punjabi and 3 short-story collections in Urdu. Besides, he has written his autobiography in Punjabi and a book of articles. His short-stories are in the syllabi of various Universities of Punjab, Delhi and J&K. Scholars of  various universities have done M Phil on the short-story collections of Khalid Hussain.
