Khajuria takes strong exception to Beigh’s statement on lynching

JAMMU, July 28: Senior BJP leader and MLC, Ashok Khajuria has taken serious exception to senior PDP leader and MP Baramulla Lok Sabha Constituency, Muzaffar Beigh’s statement during the function of party’s Foundation Day at Srinagar today who reportedly has said that lynching on the name of cow will lead to another partition.
In a strongly worded statement issued here, today BJP leader demanded that the Beig may be suspended as MP as his remarks tantamount to sedition.
Khajuria said the statement has revealed that the PDP leader has come into the true colours and he also started following those Kashmiri leaders who for their vested interests continued the policy of blackmail.
He demanded that the MP be dealt under the law of treason as the statement tantamount to waging a war against the unity and integrity of nation which can’t be tolerated at any cost by any patriotic Indian.
Khajuria said that he never expected such statement from one of the seasoned and respectable politician like Beig and “my feelings have been totally hurt by it”. He said Beig with his statement is trying to follow those Kashmiri politicians who ruled the State in past to give one statement when in power and another after losing the power.
He said it was expected that the PDP MP unlike other Kashmir centric politicians will show political magnanimity and muster courage in telling the truth to the people who have misguided Kashmiris for last 70 years for their vested political interests and putting the Valley on fire but it is unfortunate that he too followed the same path.
Khajuria said that such statements instead of bridging the gulf between people will widen it further which is no body’s interest.
Khajuria said if Beig like politicians could see the one incident of lynching why their eyes remained closed when people in erstwhile Doda district including children were brought out of buses segregated and killed. “Why no word was uttered by the leaders like him when the matadors carrying school children in Jammu during nineties were blasted or any word uttered over the killings in Barshalla, Chapnari, Kulhand, Nadimarg, Chhattisingpora, Wandhhama where even children and ladies were not spared or even the jawans of army, security forces and local police being killed by terrorists ”, he added
