JAMMU, July 21: Prabhari Kissan Morcha J&K BJP, Omi Khajuria has demanded payment of compensation to the people whose shops, houses and other structures have come under the four lanning of Jammu -Akhnoor Highway.
In a statement issued here, today he said that the affected people whose land has come under the highway are mostly poor farmers who are unable to reconstruct their houses and shops till they are not paid the compensation. While some of the people were paid the compensation the others have not been paid the same so far and these people are in great distress.
Khajuria made an appeal to authorities to release the compensation to them as per prevailing market rates immediately.
He also demanded payment of compensation to Ring road farmers whose land has come under the Ring road as per prevailing market rates. He said these farmers have been given very less rates for the land while the market rate is very high.
