JAMMU, Aug 26: Police in Jammu’s Akhnoor area claimed today that they have arrested one person and seized from his possession 11 blocks of Khair tree.
A police spokesperson said that a team of Akhnoor Police Station led by SHO Akhnoor Inspector Zaheer Mushtaq under the supervision of SDPO Akhnoor Mohan Lal Sharma, while on naka duty at Punnu Chowk, intercepted an Alto car.
On searching the vehicle, he said, 11 blocks of Khair tree were found in the possession of the driver Joginder Pal from Mandrian, Akhnoor.
Accordingly, the accused was detained and the recovered items were handed over to the Forest Department officials, he said.
The accused is being probed further, said the police spokesperson.
