SRINAGAR, July 18: Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (IOCL) introduced a new cylinder for its customers called the Composite Cylinder.
“One of the main features of this new cylinder is that one may see how much gas is left and how much has been spent,” said proprietor of Kashmir Gas Agency (KGA), Jagmohan Singh Raina.
He also said that Composite Cylinders are specially designed and are ideal for modern kitchens.
“The cylinders are rust-free and are not prone to corrosion which reduces the chances of leaving stains and marks on surfaces,” he maintained.
Launching smart cylinders in Srinagar, Director Food Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, Abdul Salaam Mir said Composite Cylinders are light-weighted and are half in weight as compared to their steel counterparts.
“Lifting a steel cylinder for women was a difficult task, but this cylinder made of fibre glass is safe and most convenient in weight,” he maintained.
A handout stated that consumers can replace their existing steel cylinder with the composite cylinder by paying the difference in security deposit.
The security deposit for the domestic non-subsidized category is kept at Rs. 3350 for the 10 kg variant.
