BISHNAH, Jan 25: Shiv Sena Hindustan (SSH), Pandit Rajesh Kesri, today expressed serious concern over the industrial water pollution in Bishnah area.
In this regard a public meeting was held at Chak Murar in Bishnah Block to deliberate upon the grave and alarming issue of untreated industrial wastewater being released openly by factories, which are posing a serious threat to public health and the environment.
Addressing the gathering, residents informed that several factories operating in the Bari Brahmana industrial area are allegedly discharging untreated and highly polluted wastewater into open areas.
Over time, this toxic water has seeped deep into the soil, contaminating underground water sources up to 100 feet. Villages including Chak Murar, Deoli, and several other surrounding areas of Bishnah Block are facing severe consequences, with tubewells now pumping contaminated water that has become completely unfit for drinking and domestic use.
The consumption of this polluted water, locals stated, has led to a sharp rise in water-borne diseases and other serious health issues, particularly affecting children and the elderly.
Rajesh Kesri strongly condemned the apathy and negligence of the concerned departments, stating that despite repeated representations and complaints made through the SDM, no concrete action has been taken so far.
He pointed out that officials have been citing high costs and jurisdictional limitations as excuses, while the health of thousands of people continues to deteriorate.
Kesri termed this attitude as highly irresponsible and unacceptable, asserting that protecting public health is a primary duty of the Government.
He warned that if immediate corrective measures are not taken, the region could soon face a major public health crisis.
The meeting was attended by Sanjeev Sharma, Balwant Fauji, Dheeraj Kumar, Suresh Kumar, Satpal, Balveer Kumar, Vijay Devi, Darshana Devi, Neeru Devi and others.
