JAMMU, Apr 23: An Aadhaar Enrollment and Update Camp was organized today at Government School Gandhi Nagar, Jammu, for school-going children to ensure smooth access to education and Government welfare benefits. The initiative was led by Keshav Chopra, Chairman of Samvedna Society, in collaboration with District Child Protection Unit Jammu and Mission Vatsalya, Department of Social Welfare.
The camp was inaugurated by District Child Protection Officer Jammu, Dr Preeti Sharma, who appreciated the initiative as a strong step toward child welfare and inclusion. Technical teams facilitated new Aadhaar registrations, biometric updates and corrections in existing records, with special focus on children above five years requiring mandatory biometric re-enrollment. Many of these children had been rescued from child labour and begging and are now enrolled in schools.
Keshav Chopra reiterated his commitment to ensuring proper rehabilitation and uninterrupted access to Government benefits for all children. Officials present included Principal Anjamin Jabeen, Tipu Magrey (CPO Jammu), Meenakshi Sharma, Mamta, Taranjeet Kour, Sunaina and Rohit Gupta.
