JAMMU, Feb. 7: National Mazdoor Conference (NMC) president Subash Shastri today welcomed the announcement of Union Finance Minister, Arun Jaitley to provide additional Rs 1.50 lakh crore for implementing the recommendations of the 7th Pay Commission with effect from 1st January 2016 in the year 2016-17 Union Budget which is likely to be presenting by Jaitley in the coming Budget Session of Parliament this month.
Addressing a well attended meeting of the NMC activists here, Shastri said that now since the NDA Government at the Centre has decided to go ahead with giving effect to Pay Commission implementation in respect of employees and pensioners of Central Government, a similar provision of rupees five thousand crore to be provided to Jammu & Kashmir Government so that J&K State achieves the honour to become the first State to implement the recommendations of the 7th Pay Commission in respect of its employees and pensioners along with Central Government employees and pensioners.
While appreciating steps taken by Governor’s administration, especially to clear pending all GPF cases, Mr Shastri also praised the direction to expedite regularizations of eligible daily rated workers. The trade union leader also appealed to the Governor to release pending emoluments in their favour. He also urged NN Vohra to announce and release the pending 6 percent DA installment due from July last in favour of Government employees and pensioners to mitigate their sufferings.
Enhancing salary of daily wagers to rupees ten thousand per month, strictly implementing CP Fund deduction scheme in all departments of the State Govt, increasing medical allowance to rupee one thousand per month and immediate release of all pending dues of daily wagers working in Irrigation and Flood Control Department, PWD, PDD and issues necessary orders for removing of all pay anomalies of clerical cadre under SRO 93 were other demands highlighted on the occasion.
Among others present on the occasion included Rajan Babu, BS Jamwal, Sunil Kochar, Surinder Kumar, Bhupinder Singh, Sudesh Kumar and Paramjeet.
