Keep Jammu clean

Sir,
Despite the efforts of the Central Government for making India clean with “Swachh Bharat Abhiyan”, Jammu seems to be going backward on its commitment to keep the city clean. Few days ago the strike called out by the safai karamcharis against Jammu Municipal Corporation made the city and the authorities to live in unhygienic surroundings. The garbage which was not dumped on time just because of the strike, made the beautiful city look like a dumping yard.
Though safai karamcharis call off their strike after 5 days and even start working with dedication but the filth of Jammu is same. On Maharaja Gulab Singh Marg, several scrap dealers and traders store plastic waste in open spaces. In Nanak Nagar people have made the street so filthy by dumping their waste outside the bins that it is hard enough to cross that vicinity. Garbage kept flowing out of the dustbins. The humid atmosphere here attracts the flies and other diseases. Municipal Corporation should wake up and act against the garbage scattered out on the streets. Without a pinch of doubt it can be admitted that the city is no longer left clean. Neither citizens nor the corporation are working on a serious note to make the city clean and green.
