KDSF unveils insights on crime against women

NEW DELHI/ GURGAON, Nov 7: The K D Singh Foundation- Support Cell for Rape Victims Intelligence Unit, a grassroot-level social welfare organization providing comprehensive three-tiered medical, legal and rehabilitation support to rape survivors has unveiled preliminary insights on Rape Statistics in Haryana collated by the Foundation’s Intelligence Unit.
The findings are based on the Foundation’s extensive field research experience across 17 districts of the State with successful rehabilitation of 113 rape survivors in less than a year of operations.
According to National Crime Records Bureau, Haryana ranks 16th nationally accounting for 3% of rape cases in North India.
The key observations from the report suggest that minors are more vulnerable to sexual abuse and in most cases, the perpetrators of the crime are known to the victim. KD Singh Foundation (KDSF) intelligence unit has found that out of the interviewed victims, 74% are minors and accused were known to the victim in 88% cases. 45% of the rape victims belong to Scheduled Castes (SCs) out of the documented cases.

The Support Cell for Rape Victims provides comprehensive support to rape victims through its team of social workers, educationists, and lawyers who are constantly working across cities, villages in Haryana.
